Sleep paralysis: Do not be afraid

Have you ever experienced sleep paralysis? This is when you are deep asleep and then suddenly, a heaviness comes on you, you can’t move, speak or even open your eyes and it is very terrifying, you can barely go back to sleep after an attack. Scientists call this sleep paralysis. Spiritually, it is actually a demonic attack. When I first got born again, I would have these attacks majority of the nights. I remember as a young girl, I would be asleep and then I would see a face of a leopard on the wall or ceiling and I couldn’t move. But this happened occasionally and it stopped until I got born again in 2018. At that time in 2018, I would go on the internet to try to find out what was happening to me because I did not understand and I didn’t know of any person who had or was experiencing these kinds of attacks even in my then church- but there was barely any information on the internet except for one person who was speaking of how he had experienced this and that it gets better with time, and to just hang on to the Lord. It would mostly occur when I was fasting. Then one day by the grace of God, I was listening to a woman of God and she was speaking of how to take authority over demonic spirits. She spoke about using Luke 10:19 which says:

“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

The Lord Jesus Christ was giving His authority to His disciples over the enemy; Satan. So you have to be first a follower of Jesus Christ [Christian] in order to win this battle.
I started quoting this scripture whenever I would get the attack. This is how I would do it. But first, I must make this point: as terrified as you feel, remember that the enemy thrives off of our fear. His agenda is to instill fear in us. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you overcome your fear. * This is very important because spiritual beings can sense our emotions and especially fear and discouragement. I am not by any means a Bible scholar or perfect, but this is what has worked for me. So, by the help of the Holy Spirit, I rise above my fear when I wake up after this attack. Then I SPEAK and say: ” In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Lord in Luke 10:19, Your word says (Quote the scripture as it is) then this is where you take your authority in Christ.
Say: ” in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, by His power and authority,  I command every demonic spirit to leave NOW. I am taking authority over every serpent and scorpion and nothing by any means shall harm me.”
Then I go ahead and speak and say: “Thank You Lord because Your word is alive, it is powerful, it is sharper than any double edged sword. You honor Your word above Your name. And now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, I speak Philippians 4:7 ( quote it) and I declare that Your peace that surpasses human understanding is my portion, it will keep and guard my heart and mind throughout the night. Thank You Lord for doing it. Amen.
* The next very important thing to do is to have faith that the Lord has done it. You cannot have any doubts in your mind. Picture the Lord as being GREATER, STRONGER AND MIGHTIER than the devil. After all, He is the One who created the tormentor ( the devil). If you go back to sleep and you get attacked again, do it again but you must believe that it is done. Do not give room for Satan to attack you again because he will. I remember I never used to sleep when this would happen the first few times but I would cry to the Lord because I had to be functional during the day for work and He would by His mercy give me a peaceful night until I gained mastery by His grace. Build up your faith and don’t give up. It does get better. Learn warfare scriptures ( you can google them) and you can incorporate them your own way. Do I still get these attacks? Yes. But every once in a while and I nip them in the bud. I am still a work in progress but I choose to grow in the Lord and not to give up. I truly thank the Lord for building my stamina and endurance, and for being very patient with me even as I grow day by day. I pray that the Lord will grant you the grace, strength and boldness to overcome any fear and the enemy of our souls, Satan, in the name of Jesus Christ. All glory to His precious name now and forever. Amen.
